WAHO was established by New Zealander Sam Spinks in 2009 with a vision to create dynamic and considered landscape spaces. Since its inception, our team has grown and progressed to a group of collaborative, like-minded professionals who are are aligned in passion and purpose. We are collectively committed to the delivery of leading landscape design that connects people with place.
With over 20 design professionals and support staff, our team is made up of Landscape Architects, Horticulturists, Irrigation Engineers, CGI specialists and Administration Personnel. Each individual project requires specific experience and skills: these are the key variable factors that form the basis upon which our team members are assigned to a project to ensure a seamless process and successful delivery.

Significant experience across a wide range of developments with a core focus on landscape architecture for culturally and historically significant buildings and spaces. An award-winning landscape architect, prior to his relocation to the Middle East, Sam was a senior landscape architect at one of Sydney’s premier heritage landscape design studios.
This foundation and appreciation for the sensitivities of designing historical and cultural sites has been translated across the Middle East region, with the completion of a number of world heritage, as well as internationally renowned, sites. In addition, his international breadth of design expertise spans public open spaces, hospitality and mixed use developments.
His qualifications also extend to horticulture and he combines his myriad of skills to form appropriate and evolutionary design responses for industry leading landscape spaces and interventions.
Remi brings over 14 years’ significant experience both locally and internationally across a large variety of projects from Urban and Civic, Health and Education, Sports and Leisure, Residential and Master Planning projects from project initiation through concept to on-site construction.
With a background in marketing and project coordination in the design and event sector in the UAE, Pamela oversees operations, marketing and HR. Passionate about collaborating with teams that are making a positive impact, she applies strong administrative, organisational, strategic skills to support the WAHO Team in delivering thoughtfully considered projects that enable people to connect with nature and community.
After gaining experience in the Australian market Tina headed to the middle east to grow her landscape knowledge in the region. Working on multiple projects in the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, KSA and Kuwait. Tina has been involved in a range of landscape projects at different scales. Tina is passionate about the contributions that women make to the workplace and through the design practice, advocating for balance and equality in the field.
Matt is experienced as a lead designer,guiding teams throughout each project stage, from concept through to construction, across varying scales. Matthew is passionate about working within the public realm and designing spaces that enable people to interact with their surrounding environments.

Brian has 15 years of diverse experience in Landscape Architecture and Construction in the Middle East and Philippines. Since 2008 he has been based in the GCC working with various international consultancies on projects of varying complexity and scale. Brian’s critical thinking, technical skills and design flair are invaluable to the projects he manages and collaborates on.
